The 100-piece set is square-heavy by design (squares are the most versatile shape). Dedicated builders will want the expansion packs for more triangles, hexagons, and specialty pieces. They're also surprisingly loud when a toddler drops a stack of 20 on a hardwood floor at 6 a.m. — not a dealbreaker, but you should know.
